    Top Fantasy Rookie?

Thoughts on the top fantasy rookie this year (in terms of production)? I'm not talking total potential. Just who will have the most fantasy pts at the end of the year.

The obvious thinking is one of the RBs. I'm going to go with an unconventional pick and say Forte. My thinking:

    1) Run DMC will be a 50/50 time share w/ Fargas. Expect Fargas to get the early starts, similar to Chester & AP last year. However, don't be fooled - this is not the same situation. AP is a different runner than McFadden. McFadden should get the starting position at some point, but I don't think it'll be until after the midway point of the season. Unless Fargas goes down (a real possibility).

    2) Stewart is a beast, very true. DeAngelo will still get his PT, so another timeshare - 50/50 at best for Stewart. Given their different styles, I almost envision something in-line with what the Jags run with Taylor and MJD. However, I am just not convinced that Carolina can run the ball.

    3) Forte is the clear #1 in Chicago. Wolfe and the poor-man's AP aren't really competition. Plus, Cedric "Puff Daddy" Benson was on pace for 1000 yards last year, despite averaging a meak 3.4 ypc. Bottomline, the Bears like to run the ball. Plus Forte is the anti-Benson. He's a strong runner and will not shy from contact (or fall down at the first hit like Benson).

    Anyone care to counter?

    Re: Top Fantasy Rookie?

I like the Forte choice, a little unconventional, but I could definitely see him leading rookie RBs in fantasy points this year...

However, I have to go with McFadden. He will share carries with Fargas and Michael Bush, yes, but they are going to run the ball a ton (still see him getting 15 carries per game), he will catch the ball alot, and the Raiders have even been practicing with him in the Wildcat formation (where he lines up at QB).

So, bottom line is that I think Forte will get more touches, but DMC will do more with the ones he gets

i've been watching Hard Knocks on HBO.  seems like Felix Jones is gonna have a solid rookie campaign.  maybe not #1 rookie, but i wouldn't be surprised if he ended up with an equal or better season than Run DMC
