The rules that govern league play are noted below, including rules on Keepers, determining
draft order, and the scoring system.
Keepers
Keepers will be designated before the start of each year (this will
allow us to watch for holdouts, injuries, retirements to go smoke weed, etc). One
keeper will have a 3 year contract; your other keeper will have a 1 year contract.
How you designate the keepers is completely up to you. Giving a guy a 3 year contract
only means that you can keep him UP TO 3 years, it does not mean you have to keep
that guy for 3 years. You would be free to designate a different guy as your 3 year
keeper the next year. The only stipulation is:
- After the first year, you designate Mcgahee
as your 3 yr keeper and Ronnie Brown as your 1 year keeper
- In the following year, Ronnie Brown would
not be available for you to designate as
a keeper. McGahee could only be your “3 year keeper”. In other words, you could not designate a new 3 year keeper and make McGahee your 1 year keeper. If you wanted a new
3 year keeper, McGahee would be released
into the draft pool for that year (remember that keepers are designated before July 31st, not at the end of the
playoffs the previous year)

Draft Positions for successive years
-
The first pick of the draft will be determined
by who wins the Consolation bracket of the playoffs (this is the bracket for those
who did not make the actual playoffs). The 11th and 12th place
teams will get first round byes. The 7th and 8th place teams will play each other and 9th and 10th will play each other.
The thinking here is that the best team should have the toughest road to win the
# 1 pick.
- Draft picks 2-6 will be determined by regular
season record, with points scored being the tiebreaker (lowest points gets the higher
pick of the tied teams)
- Pick # 7 will be determined by the matchup
for 5th place. These are the losers of the first round playoff games
playing against each other. 9th pick is determined by the battle for 3rd place, winner gets the 9th pick, loser gets 10th.
8-12 will be determined by playoff finish, with the playoff winner getting the 12th
pick, runner up gets the 11th pick, and so on.
- If anyone throws a game or does not put forth
an effort to win (i.e. – not setting your lineup) they will be penalized by getting
their 2nd round draft pick revoked for the following year. If someone
is throwing a game or not will be determined by the commissioners (myself and Eric).
Misc. Information
- 6 teams make playoffs; top 2 seeds receive
a first round bye
- (Injured Reserve – In the case that you have
a player who is diagnosed as injured for at least 6 weeks (if someone is out for
“4-6 weeks” that is not considered out for at least 6 weeks), you could put them
on the IR. This will allow you to pick up another Free Agent but anyone put on IR
will be on IR for the entire year. You may only designate 2 players for IR during
the year.
- Jerome had his 2nd
round pick revoked this year for not setting his lineup too many times last year.
He will have the last pick in the draft to make up for that roster spot.
